Opportunities For Professionals

Imagining Who Works at Mammal

Let’s tell the truth, becoming a veterinary surgeon or veterinary nurse, a doctor of any kind, a nurse too,  is just, simply put, hard work. We love animals and science, yet our pursuits in this industry have been met with serious hurdles. We desire to help discover new answers to puzzling questions, and rise to the occasion to protect a great quality of life.

We understand how the industry has unravelled and a huge strain has been placed on most of us. We’ve all seen decreased quality of care due to unreasonable patient caseloads. Clinical staffing is a hit or miss. Angry clients for lack of care or financial constraints. The list is massive.

This stops now.

You are a clinical professional. You want to come to work and practise veterinary medicine at a high standard and level of care that is always improving and evolving.
We sought measures to reduce the stress that occurs in the standard veterinary business model. We have developed a core focused plan to better work life at Mammal.

That’s right, therapy. We all see the mental well being challenges of veterinary professionals as well as the mental health of our clients who own our furry patients as in deep need of recognition and assistance. We feel having a therapist on board will better help in making sure our clinical team members are individually feeling safe, protected, and capable of overcoming work obstacles, but also taking care of our team values and how our team interacts.
It’s our belief our clients have many obstacles put in front of them when it concerns the wellbeing of their furry family member. That’s why we feel it’s really great that our clients can benefit from our therapist. Having someone like this present for bereavement will offer clients initial insight towards healing. We want what’s best for all living things coming through Mammal’s doors.

Work life balance is always spoken of, but we wanted this unicorn to exist. The way you manage your working schedule will be on your terms if you are a primary care team veterinarian or registered veterinary nurse.
Accessory clinical staff will be hired to accent primary care teams with daily events within the hospital. We will always seek out well seasoned veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses to act as duty vets and nurses within the hospital to be at the disposal of the primary care teams. We aim to financially compensate all professionals to a high standard, offer deep consideration to their individual well being, and seek to create a very positive work environment that enriches and gives back.
We want to create a safe space where your voice is heard, and something gets done to make it right immediately. We aim to insure your well being and support you. We want you to know we have your back.
Our collective work at Mammal will be a massive improvement for you and the communities we serve. By changing the model entirely we hope we’ve shattered the old paradigms in the current industry climate. You’ll be moving forward and evolving in something new, and capable of really changing pet care, the environment, your skills and knowledge, and helping build a sustainable place where the future can be met with great knowledge and skill.

Recruitment and Partnerships

We want to change the game entirely for the benefit of everyone involved in pet care. We care about you, let us prove it.

We’ve removed the majority of pressures of financial constraints on pet owners, and we hope that this allows pet care to massively improve. We think this will improve all of us as this sociologically has long since been a primary problem. We hope this gives us better autonomy in managing the healthcare of animals and pet owner’s peace of mind.
Mammal Healthcare is currently just exclusively canine and feline driven, but we do have goals at creating separate satellite hospitals in the future within the M25 belt. We’ve planned a stand-alone new specialty referral centre to be within our network of care to offer better level commitment care to our members. We aim to create a stand-alone hospital dedicated to exotic and large animals, as well as goals to create a One Health Clinic where human and veterinary medicine can help advance each other.

With technology so rapidly advancing we want to support learning but we also want to grab hold of this wave of AI growth. We want partnerships. We want to share, as our belief is, the more we learn, the more we try to do it the right way, we feel everyone benefits.

We are no stranger to having worked with students, and we welcome applications from students in the fields of healthcare, science and medicine, as well within the One Health initiative to come and experience, learn, and teach. We also offer openings for student nursing and veterinary mentoring in surgery and medicine for students in university or within their first year qualified.

We’re very passionate that if you do things the right way, and care for it, nurture it, so much will grow from giving that energy. We want professionals that want to make a difference in pet healthcare, and for that we encourage continued learning and ensuring you’ve got time laid out for you.

If you’re interested in working with Mammal Healthcare, we want to hear from you. Please submit a well thought out cover letter about how you want to collaborate with us, be sure to illustrate you’ve a sense of humour, because as we are serious about our professionalism we do feel laughter is great medicine.
